PSP Achieves Cyber Essentials Plus Certification
We’re proud to announce that PSP is now Cyber Essentials Plus certified - a UK Government-backed accreditation that demonstrates our commitment to keeping our systems secure and our clients’ data protected.
Cyber Essentials Plus is the highest level of certification in the Cyber Essentials scheme. It involves a hands-on technical audit by independent security assessors who test whether our cyber defences can withstand real-world attacks – including phishing, malware, and unauthorised access attempts.
“Achieving Cyber Essentials Plus gives you independent assurance that your security measures are effective and resilient against real-world threats. It reinforces your commitment to protecting client data and maintaining trust across your operations.” Adam Griffin, Cirrus MSP
Unlike the basic Cyber Essentials certification, which is self-assessed, Cyber Essentials Plus includes a thorough verification of key controls such as:
· Firewall and boundary security
· Secure configuration of devices and software
· Access controls and permissions
· Patch management and software updates
· Protection against viruses and malware
These controls have been rigorously tested to make sure they’re working as they should, helping us reduce the risk of common cyber threats by up to 80%.
For our clients, this means greater confidence that PSP is taking proactive, independently verified steps to protect sensitive information. The certification is especially relevant for projects involving strict data security requirements or supply chain compliance.
For our suppliers, it shows we’re a secure link in the chain - one that takes shared cyber risk seriously and meets the standards expected by today’s business environment.
Our Cyber Essentials Plus certificate is valid for 12 months, and we’ll continue to maintain and improve our security practices through ongoing staff training, regular updates, and policy reviews. This isn’t a one-off achievement – it’s part of how we future-proof our business and continue to earn the trust of the people we work with.
Thanks go to Cirrus MSP, our managed service provider, for their expertise and guidance throughout the certification process, and to the internal team for their efforts behind the scenes.
