The Capital Radio awards were back in the Capital this year, after a 4 year absence. The event was held at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel. PSP provided all technical and stage management. The event was hosted by Denise van Outen and Jonny Vaughan. The event saw Awards being presented to, among others, Take That, Leona Lewis, Scouting for Girls and The Spice Girls.

Barco CLM R10’s were used on the 5 projection screens built into the custom set showing live camera, graphics and video nomination packages. Colorweb was used in the set, powered by a hypotizer running animated video content through. A Nexo audio system was used for sound plus a three camera PPU and Betacam and Dvcam playback facility. Presenters used autocue utilising 50” plasma with honeycomb covers located at the back of the room.

The event had an over night build and a crew of thirty.
